Over the last year, Jinju has truly blossomed and has slowly opened up more and more to our family. The moment she arrived, I was impressed and at times shocked with how well she adjusted and how quickly she bonded with me (Ludo). Initially, however, she was more hesitant towards Spencer and would not be as interactive with him or most male figures. She was also scared of our cat but respected her and her space.
About 3 months after arriving (when I had to leave for a trip for about a week), Jinju spent more time with Spencer and they had time to bond, and slowly Jinju became his little sidekick! She likes to go on car rides with dad, likes their afternoon walk together when he returns from work, and mostly loves nap time with him. Jinju has also become close to her sister cat, and at times they hang out together on our bed or, when it's a nice day, they sit by the balcony together and pretend to hunt the mourning dove.
Jinju has also made a LOT of doggy friends over the last year! She got invited to a doggy birthday party the moment she arrived, and has had her own "gotcha day" party since!!! She loves all her doggy friends! We recently had a beach day with two of her corgi friends and she had a blast! This summer, Jinju was also able to experience camping for the first time and she had a blast! We camped with friends who had two little dogs so she got to play with them too!!!!
Though Jinju is a very good doggo 80% of the time, the other 20% she engages in mischief, like her foster family had said!!! Her favorite victims are my plants 🪴, though my important papers for work are a close second. She also enjoys chewing on our recycling, but that one is less damaging. Spencer and I joke that Jinju likes to give in to her "intrusive thoughts" far too often.
Jinju also loves her grandparents, and she gets to see them whenever they come visit or when Spence and I are out of town. During the biggest snowstorm in Rhode Island history (the storm of '26), Jinju got to hang out with my parents and also got to play in the snow! She loves to run around in the snow!!!! ❄️ She also loves Spencer's mama and got to spend this past week with her!!!
Overall, Jinju has been an amazing addition to our family and we couldn't imagine life without her. She is a bundle of joy and she loves all of us (even the cat) fiercely. She makes every day better just by existing, and she has also introduced us to so many new friends as she makes her own doggy friends in our dog park! We love Jinju endlessly ❤️❤️🐕
